Daniel Kahneman hit the nail on the head with his System 1 and System 2 viewpoint on thinking. It is more and more being dominated by tribal thinking by most individuals. It is the Tribe uber alles!

Just a metaphor, Michael. Matt Ridley must be sitting by your side in the cave also. I read his book “The Evolution of Everything” and I was very disappointed on his very conservative viewpoint in some of his chapters. Could be he is one of the stokers now :-))

We do not live in a Jeffersonian world anymore but in a world of mega-corporations, mega-governments, and mega-crooks. Trust has been eroded by the actions of them to a degree we cannot trust them anymore. They act only in their own interests and do not care for the well-being of the people they pretend to represent. Oh yes, they take care of the 1%, but what about the rest of us? Michael, have you gone over to the Dark Side?
